6 - 8 April 2018: Visit to Portsmouth and Bucklers Hard

A weekend event to explore the connections between the Royal Navy in Portsmouth and Pembrokeshire, during the Visit Wales ‘Year of the Sea’.

We will visit the Portsmouth Historical Dockyard and see, close up, the Royal Navy (RN) of yesterday and today in surrounds strikingly similar to Pembroke Dock: and we will gain a wonderful insight into the building of wooden warships at Bucklers Hard just as it was in the early days at Milford.

In addition to these visits you will be able to hear a presentation on the history of the RN at Milford and Pembroke Dock and another on the RN today. You will also receive a presentation from the Friends of the New Forest on the issues and challenges they face today.

Friends will need to make their own transport and accommodation arrangements, but car sharing is encouraged.

Full details here, the closing date has now passed but if you want to join in then let Ian know by 29 March latest.
