Policy Overview

Our purpose is to assist, for the public benefit, in the protection, conservation and enhancement of Pembrokeshire’s National Park.

In this we are guided by the statutory National Park purposes.

We act as a ‘critical friend’ of the National Park Authority as it carries out its statutory role.

We act as watchdog on other authorities whose activities affect the Park.

We act as a consultee to the Welsh Government on issues affecting the Park.

We aim …

  • to influence decision makers
  • to be involved in consultative processes leading to decisions affecting the Park
  • to achieve results by persuasion and collaboration
  • to consult members on major issues
  • to inform members of representations made or stances taken
  • to maintain close links with the other Welsh National Park Societies and other bodies with whom we have common cause.

We are founding members of the Alliance for Welsh Designated Landscapes and the Welsh National Park Societies. We also work with other groups who seek to conserve our countryside.
