Lunch: If is a boiling hot day(!) then bring a picnic. But, if for some reason it is overcast, wet and a bit chilly then you might prefer to warm up again with a nice pint and warm food at the St Govan’s Country Inn on completion.

Amseru a Man Cyfarfod: 10:45 for coffee and biscuits and 11:15 start of the business at the Giltar Hotel, Dinbych y Pysgod (SA70 7DU). There are public car parks very close to the Giltar and very limited on-road parking. The afternoon tour will commence from the Giltar at 13:30 and should last for about 90 minutes.

DETAILS: A unique chance to see and hear about Nevern church, its surrounds and the Norman Castle which stands over it. To be followed by a short walk for those who want to partake.
Steve Watkins will take you back through the history of the beautiful Nevern church, including the Ogham script found on stones, the beautifully carved Celtic Cross and the pilgrims’ cross, before we explore the Norman motte and bailey castle and expose the secrets of its brief but turbulent history. After a picnic in the castle those who wish to can partake of a short walk in the surrounding woods and river banks.

DETAILS: A 6.5-mile circular walk (or just do as much as you want to …) around Llys Y Fran reservoir in the capable hands of Margaret Sandland. This walk will provide a chance to experience the beautiful wildlife and bird watching in the wooded surrounds of the reservoir, and enjoy picturesque views of the nearby Preseli hills. We will have a self-provided picnic at one of the magical rest spots. One of the many highlights will be the walk below the spectacular 100 ft high dam!
