10 December 2017: Christmas Afternoon Tea and Carol Service

Details: This year’s Christmas Tea and Carol Service will follow the well-tried and popular procedure. The Tea will take place at St Brides Castle and the Carol Service will follow in St Brides Church. Bydd y Gwasanaeth yn cael eu cymryd gan y Rheithor Sain Ffraid,,en,Tad Andrew Johnson,,en,gyda nifer o ffrindiau sy'n cynnal yr darlleniadau. Ni fydd unrhyw weithgaredd cyn te eleni ond rydym yn bwriadu i roi ar Cynnes-Gwin-ac-a-Mins-Pie cymdeithasol ar ôl i'r Gwasanaeth Carolau ym Mwyty Dylan yng Nghastell Sain Ffraid,,en,â'r Nadolig hwyl aplenty,,en,Gofynnir Ffrindiau mynychu'r te i ddod cacennau,,en,bwydydd sawrus a brechdanau,,en,Gwybodaeth Hangen Cyn y dydd,,en,Wyt ti,,en,arbenigwr mins-pei bach,,en, Father Andrew Johnson, with several Friends conducting the readings. There will be no pre-tea activity this year but we intend to put on a Mulled-Wine-and-a-Mince-Pie social after the Carol Service at Dylan’s Restaurant in St Brides Castle (18:00 – 20:00) with Christmas cheer aplenty!

Friends attending the tea are requested to bring cakes, savouries and sandwiches.

Timings and Meeting Point: Tea will start at 15:30 and run to 16:45 and the carol Service will start at 17:00 and last approximately 45 minutes. There is ample car parking at St Brides Castle (SA62 3AL) and again at St Brides Church for those who wish to drive the short distance between the two.The social will take place between 18:00 and 20:00

9 November 2017: Birds at Bosherston Lily Ponds

Details: Winter is on its way and the migratory birds are preparing to leave. Sturdy footwear is highly recommended. Well behaved dogs on lead allowed.

Timings and Meeting Point: 10:30 in the public car park at the lakes. (Not 10:00 as previously advertised). To approx. 13:00 to 13:30, weather and route dependant.

Lunch: If is a boiling hot day(!) then bring a picnic. But, if for some reason it is overcast, wet and a bit chilly then you might prefer to warm up again with a nice pint and warm food at the St Govan’s Country Inn on completion.

14 October 2017: Friends’ AGM – Tenby

Details: The detailed timings and agenda are in the Calling Notice. Following the formal business and lunch there will be ‘Story of Tenby’ walking tour led by Marion Davies, a Wales Blue Badge Guide and Tenby expert. Note: there is a charge per person for the tour, payable on the day.

Timings and Meeting Point: 10:45 for coffee and biscuits and 11:15 start of the business at the Giltar Hotel, Tenby (SA70 7DU). DETAILS: A unique chance to see and hear about Nevern church, its surrounds and the Norman Castle which stands over it. To be followed by a short walk for those who want to partake.
