The Friends will, if it thinks appropriate, respond to consultation documents from any body or Planning Authority on issues that could impinge upon the policy of the National Park. Whilst we generally do not interfere with individual planning applications, if considered to have a wider impact on policy affecting the National Park as a whole, we may also consider lodging an objection. The Friends’ responses are below, in date order of response with the latest at the top.

Newgale Shingle Bank

Consultations have been underway for some time about the future of the A487 at Newgale, as the natural movement of the shingle bank and the potential for increased flooding means that the existing road may become unviable. There is a great deal of information about options for rerouting the road, and for the future of Newgale village, on the Pembrokeshire County Council website – click here to open in a new window.
