Event Guidelines

  • Booking is required for some events and numbers attending may be limited, so please book early, and if you then cannot attend, remember to cancel by phoning the relevant event leader.
  • If you have any questions about a particular event please contact the appropriate leader for that event.
  • Non-members are welcome to attend our events, we of course hope they will enjoy making new friendships with like-minded people and become members.
  • Dogs are not usually allowed on events, unless specifically indicated as dogs welcome.

18 January 2018: Visit to Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre – Sunderland Flying Boat

There will be a £3 charge to cover the presentation.

There is plenty of parking immediately outside of the Heritage Centre.

The introduction will commence at 13:30 and the tour will last about 40 minutes depending upon questions. Thereafter, Friends will be free to walk around the Heritage Centre for as long as they wish. There are no other parties visiting the Heritage Centre that day and so Volunteers will be available to answer any questions throughout the entirety of our visit.

26 January 2018: Angle Bay Walk

Details: A 4.5 mile walk, on quiet roads and coast path tracks, around the northern Angle Peninsula, taking in views of our marvellous harbour, covering history and the latest modern developments. For those inclined, afterwards possibly visiting a local hostelry for food and refreshment.
Wear good walking boots, adequate clothing and wet weather gear. Bring packed lunch and drink. Phone Chris for any further details, or in the event of a poor weather forecast. 7 February 2018: Cyflwyniad ar Brosiectau Ynni Morol Cymru,,en,7 Chwefror prosiectau ynni morol cymru 2018 Cyflwyniad,,en

Details: An evening presentation from Marine Energy Wales which runs a number of projects across the coast of Pembrokeshire, working closely with PCNPA. Marine Energy’s aim is to make Wales the leader in sustainable marine energy generation and this presentation will aim to inform us what that means and how they hope to achieve it. 22 February 2018: The Last Invasion Anniversary Walk

Details: Taith gylch 5km o Bentref Llanwnda,en, to the French landing grounds at Carregwasted and back, via Trehowel Farm, the French headquarters. At Llanwnda you can still see the Welsh bible, rhannol llosgi gan y oer ac yn llwglyd milwyr Ffrengig,,en,Yna, mae'n reid car byr i Draeth Wdig,,en,lle ildiodd y Ffrancod ac ar ôl cinio yn y Royal Oak,,en,dewisol,,en,lle ildio ei drafod,,en,byddwn yn ymweld â'r tapestri coffaol ac yna garreg fedd Jemima Nicholas ',,en,ac yn olaf,,en,byddwn yn gyrru rownd i Fort Abergwaun i weld ble mae'r ergyd gyntaf ei danio,,en. Then it’s a short car ride to Goodwick Sands, where the French surrendered and after lunch in the Royal Oak (optional), where the surrender was negotiated, we’ll visit the commemorative tapestry and then Jemima Nicholas’ headstone. And finally, we will drive round to Fishguard Fort to see where the first shot was fired.
