The winners of the Friends 2013 Childrens’ Literary Competition were announced at the Friends AGM on 12 April 2014.
At the awards ceremony, the Chairman first paid tribute to all the pupils who submitted such varied and interesting entries. It was clearly becoming very popular with the quality and standard of entries being exceptional, such that it was extremely difficult to pick the winners.
He also personally thanked those teachers who encouraged their pupils to enter, with in excess of 80 entries being submitted. A good number of these were in the language of Welsh so this year the Friends had established a panel of three judges, two of whom were fluent in both English and Welsh, with one being a retired Head Teacher.
