22 July 2017: A Maritime Extravaganza Walk to Mynydd Dinas and then around Dinas Island

MEETING LOCATION: Meet 10am at roadside parking area below and directly East of Mynydd Dinas (Grid Reference SN01653700) Wear sturdy footwear.

EVENT: This is a two-location Event starting up on the Carningli Range overlooking Fishguard and Newport bays and then after a short walk to enjoy the views, we will jump back into cars and drive to Pwllgwaelod (free car park with toilets) to begin walk a circular walk around Dinas Island.

Distances: 1 mile and 3.5 miles. Take a picnic with you. This will be an opportunity to enjoy stunning coastal views and hear some of Pembrokeshire’s finest maritime tales of pirates and wreckers and a few other bits and pieces. The Sailors Safety pub is right next to the car park at the end of the walk for those who wish to enjoy a tot of rum before setting course for home!

LEADERS: Tim Sims-Williams and Ian Pattinson, both once dashing young Naval Officers – and now not quite so young but still very dashing!

CHARGES: Completely free.
